How to turn on Chat Backup？

1. Open the app, which displays a list of chats, and click on the "Contact" icon in the upper right corner.

 

2. Click the "gear" icon in the upper right corner to open settings page

3. Click “Chat Backup” tab

 

4.1 Back up Now
In the backup page, you can choose to backup manually by yourself. Then, press "Back up Now", if you want to backup files and videos together in the process of backup, just turn on the options "Include files" and "Include videos", videos and files will be backed up automatically.

4.2 Auto Backup
If you want to make app backup automatically, please click on "Auto Backup". 

 

And you will have different selections of backup periods, choose the one you need.

 

Note:

• iOS devices: the backup will stored on iCloud. If you lose or change your mobile phone, you can reinstall Mixin Messenger to restore your chat histories. The chat backed up in iCloud are not protected by end-to-end encryption.
• Android devices: the backup are assigned to local SD cards, and chat records are also not protected by end-to-end encryption!
