How to transfer chat history between PC and mobile phones?

Mixin Messenger (version 0.40.0) supports users to immigrate chat history between different ends, so users can freely change devices from iOS to Android or vice versa. This article is appropriate for the following situations:

1. From iOS to Android devices with PC
2. From Android to iOS devices with PC
3. From iOS to iOS devices without iCloud
4. From Android to Android devices without local Backup

1. Please install the Mixin PC version on your computer

Please go to the Mixin official website to install the Mixin desktop version on your computer and scan to log in to the desktop version.

2. Find the "Transfer to PC" tab on Mixin settings

Click the avatar and find Settings

Find Chats > Transfer to PC

Click Transfer:

And confirm the operation on your PC:

3. Wait for transferring 

Attention: Please ensure Mixin is running in the foreground during restoring chat and both old and new devices are under the same Wi-Fi; otherwise, the procedure may interrupt.

4. Install & log in to Mixin Messenger on your new device

Please go to the Mixin official website to install Mixin Messenger on your new device, then log in to the same account.

5. Skip the "Restore chat" procedure after logging in

6. Find the "Restore from PC" tab on Mixin settings

Before this step, don't forget to log into the desktop again.

Click the avatar and find Settings

Find Chats > Restore to PC

Click Restore Now:

Confirm the operation on the PC:

Attention: Please ensure Mixin is running in the foreground during restoring chat and both old and new devices are under the same Wi-Fi; otherwise, the procedure may interrupt.

7. Wait to complete the transferring
